What with my best friend getting married, and all the other crazy goings on, I haven't really had time to think about posting. I have been thinking about my YA friends, and I have been missing talking to y'all. In an effort to reunite us, I am planning a new activity.
I may be one of the few people in the United States that thinks so, but in my opinion there is a holiday on June 21st.
Midsummer is my favorite time of the year, and I look forward to it all year. I try to have all my spring cleaning done by then, all the weeds weeded, and the flowers planted, and my house decluttered. Most years I don't get it all done in time, but I still feel like I should celebrate.
I explain all this to you so you can understand why I'm so excited for this party!
Everyone is invited to bring in the new summer with me, at my house on Midsummer. I'm thinking about starting at 6pm. Please don't hesitate to come, and feel free to bring friends or family. I have a small outdoor grill, and will be using it to it's full extent, as well as a small bar (which will also be used to it's full extent). Feel free to bring anything you think is required, or desired!
I am also planning on having a fire in the pit in the backyard, so if you can't make it early, please feel free to come late and make smore's!
If you need directions to the house, send an email, and I'll get right back to you. If you are thinking about coming, please leave a comment so we know who to expect! I look forward to seeing everyone there, and I'm excited to welcome the new summer!

Taylorsville Park
I haven't really gotten much input from the group as to our next activity, so I'll go ahead and schedule another.
There is a great park in Taylorsville that I thought we could head out to next. It's on 4700s Redwood, and it has a skate park as well as grass and playgrounds, so I was thinking that for the next gathering we could co-ordinate with the CALM and SLCNomLunch groups and have a big shindig there. I'm looking at April 26th at noon. That's not a holiday weekend, and I know I'll be able to make it, so I think it meets the basic requirements.
I was also thinking we should call this an "open" event, meaning that people can bring their families, and we can all hang out together getting drunk on root beer. For food we can all bring a beverage of our choice, give a $3.00 donation, and send a runner for pizza (or have it delivered, I like that idea even better!).
Let me know if you have and suggestions or ideas!
Looking forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces there!

Tavernacle
Let's meet there! We have a reservation for 10 people for April 4th at 8pm. If you would like to attend, please make sure you are there no later than 8:30, as they will not hold the seats any later than that. The reservation is in the name of "Amanda".
I am an idiot. I scheduled this gathering on a weekend when I will not be able to attend, however it looks like there are a bunch of others who will be there, so go and have a good time!!
Also, I want to let anyone who is nervous about going to a bar know that the Tavernacle doesn't (and has never) allowed smoking on the premise. It's too hard on the pianos, so the place is clean, and not smokey at all.
Per our good buddy Kurskorahn's suggestion, the next activity will be not bar related, and most likely outside. I'll post as soon as I have an idea.
Have fun at the Tavernacle!!!

Sweet!
Hey guys, check it out! A blog just for us, and it looks just like http://slcnomlunch.blogspot.com/!
See, we are moving up in the world.
Anywho, I thought that starting a blog would be a good idea for us, as it allows everyone to ask and answer questions in the comments, and it gives me a little less responsibility. (Not that I don't like responsibility, but have you seen my homework lately? I need to cut corners somewhere!)
If you have suggestions, comments, ideas, want to argue with me or my ideas, please feel free to do so here. (or send me an email, whichever works)
I'll still send out group emails and reminders, but if I have a blog, then those things can be less frequent, and you don't have to worry about your inbox filling up with me sending stuff.
So here we go, off to join the BlogLand!!
